WELCOME one and all to our new website. What’s up? A new look. A new URL. What’s going on?
Well, there is a new crew in town. They have been listening to your comments. They noticed that our old website, was, well, old. It didn’t display the best on mobile devices. It was hard to find things, and wasn’t as flexible as we wanted it to be. So they put their heads together, and didn’t just fix this, and add that, they totally redesigned the website from top to bottom. We hope you will like it. Please give us your feedback, both positive and negative. We want it to be the best ISSA chapter website you’ll find.
What else is going on? Well, frankly, A LOT! As we launch our new website, we are also in uber-planning mode. April 16th is our next Lunch and Learn, held at Maggiano’s Little Italy, in Plano. April 23rd is our Top Golf event (and as some have named it the Pre-Cyber Security Conference Party). Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25 is the 2nd Semi-Annual Cyber Security Conference, to be held at the Collin College Preston Ridge Campus in Frisco. Is that enough for one month?
Maybe not, let’s add on something fun. Let’s make April really special. Bring a guest to the lunch and learn, or Top Golf event, and if they become a member of ISSA and the North Texas ISSA chapter before 9am April 24th, send me (firstname.lastname@example.org) a copy of their new ISSA member number and we will add 2 tickets in your name and 2 tickets in their name, to the drawing at the Cyber Security Conference, held Saturday afternoon. The drawing will include prizes like: Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, iPad Mini, Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy tab and more. (here is the fine print: must be present to win unless it is one of the special new member tickets; only one prize per person)
We have great members, but you know. We used to be in the top 5 for membership in the US. I’ve been told we have dropped in the rankings. Help us regain a top 5 spot, bring a guest, encourage them to evaluate the benefits of membership, and help us grow. We aren’t the right security networking group for everyone, but many find we offer what they are looking for. We offer opportunities to network with your peers, opportunities to keep up with the new trends by offering interesting Lunch and Learns and other special events like the Cyber Security Conference. And we all needs CPEs, we can help there too.
Come grow with us.
